Inspired by trading success stories of legendary trader Richard Dennis, Leonard Kok decided to join the futures trading business in 1981 immediately after his National Service. After some initial disappointments, he found a few workable strategies and became a full-time SIMEX local (now known as SGX-DT Trading Member) in 1989. Leonard's trading style involves simple-to-understand technical tools. They help him keep track of the market's momentum and build up his capital. Thus he is able to position himself on the favourable side of major market moves with large positions. He has been credited to be the first few market makers and liquidity providers that contributed to the current success of Nikkei 225, MSCI Taiwan, Simsci and Nifty Futures.

Upon SGX's invitation, Leonard is now prepared to share some of his trading strategies and will be conducting advanced professional day trading workshops for all who aspire to be full-time SGX Futures traders.

YCK

YCK has been trading futures for 17 years, starting off as a floor/pit trader in the first 13 years. He specializes in trading the NIKKEI 225 index. He is competent in most basic technical indicators with acumen to differentiate between trend following and swing trading techniques. YCK developed a personal way of charting and interpreting moving averages, candle stick, point and figure charting and market profiles, based on a firm foundation derived from Dow Theory. YCK possesses tactical knowledge in advanced trading systems like Thomas Demark counts, Turtle system and Darvas box. Having the right mind set is crucial to trading success. YCK’s personal interest lies in constant analysis on the psychology aspect of trading, especially in the area of tackling own weaknesses, differentiating between individual and mass psychology, the psychology of price movements, the psychology of risk, and the psychological impact of greed and fear on a trader and the market.
